More changes are afoot in the leadership at Tampa International (TPA).
Joe Lopano, CEO of the aviation authority, has named Koni Casini vice president of finance, administration and procurement. Elita McMillon has been promoted from manager to director of ethics, compliance and diversity, and also will assume responsibility for the minority and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise section.
“It feels terrific to have my senior staff in place and the organization aligned behind our priorities,” Lopano says. “We are energized and ready to make great things happen for this airport and this community.”
Casini will oversee finance, administration, procurement and human resources. Her first day in her new role is Oct. 3.
In addition to these new appointments, Lopano has reorganized executive responsibilities. As such, Chris Minner, vice president of marketing, has been given additional responsibilities including advertising, community affairs, airline affairs and real estate. Damian Brooks, vice president of business planning and IT, will take on duties of revenue-generating strategies, overseeing all food, beverage, retail, advertising and rental car revenues, business planning and IT.
Janet Zink, a former reporter for the St. Petersburg Times, is the new director of communications, and Gigi Rechel will remain a vice president and general counsel, focusing on legal issues and serving as advisor to Lopano and the board of directors.
