LS Travel Retail North America has opened its second Ruta Maya at Austin-Bergstrom International (AUS).
The coffee shop brings in 100% organic Arabica coffee beans from Latin American farmers and gives a fair portion back of its profits to local producers.
In addition to its coffee, the concept offers baked goods and pastries, as well as grab-and-go sandwiches, salads and soups in its 1,200 sq. ft. location in the West-end Concourse near Gate 19; subs from ThunderCloud are also available.
“We are thrilled to be opening a second Ruta Maya location in Austin,” says Vadim Motlik, chief development officer at LS Travel Retail. “AUS truly knows how to create a unique sense of place and we are proud to contribute to it through this new location, as well as the rest of our concession program at the airport.”
Customers at the new shop will also find entertainment: A full stage will showcase local artists on Thursday and Friday afternoons.
“Our airport understands and values the importance of providing a true representation of Austin and its unique vibe to our customers,” says Jim Smith, executive director of AUS. “Ruta Maya typifies this reflection of Austin. This second airport location not only brings a taste of Austin to the airport with its organic, custom-roasted coffee, it also brings the sounds of our great city.”
