Luggage Dances At SAN

Travelers at San Diego International (SAN) got to see luggage come to life today.

“Rolling Luggage,” a free improvisational performance put on the by San Diego Dance Theater, entertained people in the airport’s Terminal 2 West baggage-claim area.

Jean Isaacs, who is known for creating Trolley Dances as a unique way to reach a larger audience by using mass transit to introduce site-specific choreography to the public, choreographed the dance. “Rolling Luggage” featured eight apparent travelers who spin, swivel and dance to music with their luggage.

The event is part of the airport’s Performing Arts Program, which aims to bring local culture and talent to SAN, as well as give travelers a chance for cultural enrichments.
