Lance Lyttle has been selected as the new managing director of Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA), effective January 26, 2016. Lyttle will replace Mark Reis, who will retire from the Port of Seattle after 27 years.
Lyttle is currently chief operating officer for the Houston Airport System, where he has led multi-year strategic development efforts with capital budgets in excess of $3 billion at George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), William P. Hobby (HOU) and Ellington Field (EFD). He is also a veteran of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International (ATL), where he played a key role in a $6 billion development program.
“Mr. Lyttle brings with him a breadth of experience and depth of knowledge of airport operations, having worked in both Atlanta and Houston, and is well acclimated to the rigors of major airline competition,” says Ted Fick, CEO of the Port of Seattle. “He will bring fresh energy and perspectives to this role.”
Lyttle will lead SEA through further expansion as the airport continues to outpace passenger growth among U.S. airports. In 2015, the Port of Seattle forecasts 12.5 percent growth in airport passengers over 2014, serving more than 42 million passengers at SEA by year’s end. Port officials expect further passenger growth in 2016.
Major projects at the airport, such as the North Satellite and South Satellite renovations, the new International Arrivals Facility, and the Baggage System Optimization are designed to improve the customer experience, reduce congestion and add capacity to accommodate future growth.
