M.A.G. U.S. To Operate Escape Lounge At OAK

Oakland International (OAK) has awarded M.A.G. U.S. a contract to design, build and operate an Escape Lounge at the airport. The contract marks the second major win for the new M.A.G. U.S. business.

M.A.G. U.S. is a subsidiary of Manchester Airports Group, which owns Manchester (MAN) and London Stansted (STN) in the United Kingdom.

Under the agreement, M.A.G. U.S. will invest more than $2 million in the 2,700 sq. ft. Escape Lounge, which is scheduled to open in June 2016. For a fee, all passengers at OAK will be able to access the lounge, which will feature stylish and contemporary furnishings, complimentary food and drinks, free Wi-Fi, a relaxed atmosphere, and a selection of newspapers and magazines.

“We are delighted to be working with Oakland International Airport to bring our first Escape Lounge to the West Coast,” says Rosemarie Andolino, president and CEO of M.A.G. U.S. She adds: “Increasingly, consumers seek simple and affordable upgrades to their daily lives and Escape Lounges provide the opportunity to do just that.”

M.A.G. U.S.’s first Escape Lounge in the United States, at Minneapolis-St Paul Airport (MSP), is due to open on December 7th. M.A.G. already operates five Escape Lounges across four U.K. airports.
