The Metropolitan Airports Commission board has authorized staff at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to give financial relief to concessionaires as they weather the COVID-19 crisis.
The staff is authorized to “evaluate and, if in the best interest of the Commission, grant full or partial waivers of minimum annual guarantees for the period March 1, 2020, through June 30, 2020, for any or all parties operating under concession agreements with the MAC.”
Patrick Hogan, director, strategic communications for the MAC, said officials are in the process of developing eligibility parameters for relief, marking the first step in deciding to whom such waivers will apply and the amount that will be waived.
