MarketPlace Celebrates Terminal B Redevelopment At LGA

MarketPlace Development is marking the opening of its LaGuardia’s (LGA) Terminal B redevelopment with events through Aug. 31.

The company is about to complete the modifications on the terminal, which it has been redeveloping for the past year. New stores include America!, Desigual, Duty Free Americas/L’Occitane, Eddie Bauer, Lacoste, Lick, InMotion Entertainment, Ruby Blue and Tumi. New dining concepts include Bowery Bay Tavern, Piccolo Mercato, Six Blocks Bakery, Sorrentine, Villa Pizza Kitchen and a remodel of all Au Bon Pain locations.

“We’re pleased to announce that our redevelopment project in Terminal B is coming to fruition,” says Paul McGinn, president of MarketPlace Development. “The upgrades we’ve made in our Food & Shops program will offer passengers better options and a more comfortable experience in the aging building, as they wait for the new terminal to be built.”

The redevelopment also includes the addition of new amenities and services such as an American Express Centurion Lounge, Bank of America ATMs and escalator and HVAC systems upgrades. Both of the food courts will also be refurbished and be updated to offer free charging capability to travelers later this year.

As part of the grand opening festivities, passengers will be offered free food tastings and store discounts, and there will be live music and special events. A fashion show Aug. 21 will showcase new retail options, and a ribbon-cutting will be held Aug. 27 to celebrate the stores’ openings.
