Martinez Named DEN EVP-General Counsel

Denver International Airport (DEN) and the Denver City Attorney’s Office this week named Everett Martinez as the new General Counsel/Executive Vice President for the airport, tasked with overseeing a team of 18 attorneys and legal professionals supporting the airport’s legal initiatives.

Martinez will lead DEN Legal, a section within the Denver City Attorney’s Office (CAO), negotiates real estate transactions, drafts contracts, secures bond financing, litigates and defends legal claims, and ensures legal and regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local laws on behalf of the airport.

Martinez brings 15 years of experience to his new role and has been with the Denver City Attorney’s Office, most recently becoming Assistant General Counsel at DEN in 2020. Martinez specializes in complex financial transactions, and he has been a tireless advocate for DEN in many facets of operations, advising executive leadership and helping to solve critical problems.

“Everett Martinez is a creative, forwarding‐thinking leader who has been critical to DEN’s success over the last six years, and we are excited for him to serve as General Counsel for DEN,” said Denver City Attorney Kristin Bronson. “He is an experienced attorney who is also a devoted mentor to junior attorneys and a significant contributor to our equity, diversity, and inclusion goals.”
