Edward C. Freni has been appointed the new Director of Aviation for Boston Logan International Airport. Freni will assume the duties of Thomas J. Kinton who, in August 2006, was promoted to CEO and Executive Director of Massport and was the Airport Revenue News Best Director of the year in 2005.

Kinton, Jr. “With nearly 30 years of industry experience, Ed brings together a knowledge of both the airline industry and airport management. That mix of expertise will be invaluable as Massport positions its airport holdings to meet the transportation needs of New England.”
Mr. Freni has served Massport for seven years as Boston Logan’s director of operations. Prior to joining the airport he worked as General Manager for American Airlines where he led 1,000 employees. In his new position, Mr. Freni will be responsible for planning, operations and development at Boston Logan, LG Hanscom Field and Worcester Regional Airport.
The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) operates Boston Logan International Airport, the Port of Boston, Tobin Memorial Bridge, Hanscom Field and Worcester Regional Airport. Boston Logan has over 26M total enplanements according to the 2006 Airport Revenue News Fact Book.
