Airport Experience News has promoted two individuals in a move that strengthens the core team and positions the media and conference company to better serve the aviation community.
Barb McCarter has been promoted to portfolio manager. In her more than 20 years at AXN, Barb has performed a wide range of roles and has shown an unwavering commitment to customer service and product integrity. In her new position, Barb supports the entire AX portfolio, oversees data gathering and production of the AXN Fact Book and is responsible for the planning and execution of such signature AX Conference events as the airport tour and schmooze sessions.
Melissa K. Montes, publisher and portfolio director for Airport Experience News, has been promoted to vice president of AXN and WWIN (Womenswear In Nevada). Mel will retain her current role leading the AXN team. She will focus on driving strategic relations with industry stakeholders and ensuring the Airport Experience Conference continues to be an unparalleled annual event for the airport concessions industry. Jean-Claude Chaouloff, a longtime business development executive in the travel and hospitality sector, has joined the AX team as business development manager.
In addition to her ongoing role at AXN, Mel will expand her position within the larger Clarion Events leadership team and will lend strategic vision to the WWIN portfolio. She will also continue her role as DEI business lead for Clarion Events. Mel was named publisher of AXN in 2020 and has successfully led the business through the turbulent environment of the past two years.
