MCI Seeks Artists’ Input on Terminal Design

The Kansas City Aviation Department (KCAD) and Paslay Management Group (PMG), announces it is seeking up to five Kansas City metro-based professional artists, both visual and performance, to thoughtfully collaborate and contribute to the design process for the new single terminal and parking garage planned for Kansas City International Airport (MCI).

The project advisory artists will be contracted to participate, and all five project advisory artists will serve on the design planning team with KCAD staff and other public and private stakeholders. Their key role will be in helping to select the art installations that go into the new terminal and garage.

The new MCI terminal is scheduled to open in April 2023, and all chosen artworks will be installed prior to that date. There will be areas specifically designated for a variety of arts offerings, including performances. The new terminal RFQ will be open to international, regional and local artists.
