MCO Touts Digital Signage at Upcoming Terminal C

Orlando International Airport (MCO) this week highlighted the helpful, dynamic information and vivid multimedia content on massive video walls and connected digital displays which will guide passengers through the new Terminal C set to formally open in September.

Smart passenger communication features include automatically updated dynamic travel information that embodies MCO’s Orlando Experience design concept, and it is driven by Synect’s Passenger360  digital signage platform throughout the terminal, including ticketing security, grand transport, gates, baggage claim and concessions.

The Passenger360 system can address thousands of changes per second, such as flight or weather changes, and equips passengers with reliable, curated information to empower them on their journey. The content strategy includes live-action video footage of Orlando and the Central Florida region, engaging animations, high-visibility wayfinding, seasonal celebrations and more.

“We put the focus on the passenger in every design decision at Terminal C, which is the result of extensive airport communication innovation between GOAA and Synect,” says Tom Draper, chief of operations for the Greater Orlando Airport Authority (GOAA), which oversees MCO. “The program will help engage passengers at the major touchpoints of their journey while reflecting real-time airport activity including estimated wait times.”

Upon opening, Terminal C will serve up to 12 million passengers annually and feature a new Federal Inspection Service (FIS) facility as well as 15 new gates (accommodating up to 20 aircraft), along with amenities including a nursing station and pet relief areas. At full build-out, Terminal C can increase capacity at MCO up to 60 million passengers annually.
