Memphis International (MEM) has introduced Credit Card Express, which allows passengers to park at the airport without the need for a parking ticket.
When driving to MEM, visitors insert a credit or debit card into the ticket issuing machine and retrieve it. The card information is recorded and stored in a secure system. When it’s time to leave, drivers insert the same card into the reader. The system will bill the card based on the amount of time the person has parked.
The system is Payment Card Industry compliant, which means it meets requirements designed to ensure credit card information is processed, stores and transmitted securely. Credit Card Express accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards.
Drivers can still get tickets if they press a button before inserting their card.
“With Credit Card Express, our passengers can get in and out of the parking facility quicker,” says Scott Brockman, president and CEO at MEM. “This is one of a number of passenger-focused programs and services that we’ll be adding at MEM this year.”
