Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International (AVP) has a new concessionaire. Metz Culinary Institute has taken over all concessions operations at the airport.
Metz’s contract is for a 10-year lease. As part of the agreement, Metz will also be investing in the airport’s project moving its security checkpoint. The current configuration has most of the airport’s concessions in pre-security. This project will move the majority of concessions post-security.
Since taking over the program, which encompasses just under 3,000 square feet of space, Metz has opened a Dunkin’ Donuts pre-security, as well as a sit-down restaurant called Lucky’s Craft Food and Drink.
‘We are thrilled and honored to have been selected to provide food and beverage concessions at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International airport,” says Rick Sell, vice president of restaurant operations. “As a local company with deep ties to the community, we are committed to helping the airport elevate the traveler experience. We are accomplishing this through refreshed and rebranded food and beverage offerings at the airport including Lucky’s Craft Food & Drink, Lucky’s Too and The Newstand, along with our recent opening of Dunkin’ Donuts. We will continue to make significant investments with our partners at the airport to meet the needs of our guests and travelers.”
