Miami International (MIA) wants to say thank you to the men and uniform.
To do so, it has launched an airportwide military appreciation campaign. The visual campaign features the image of a young active-duty Army soldier shaking hands with an elderly World War II veteran in a passenger waiting area; it is accompanied by the message, “MIA thanks out service members and their families for their sacrifices.”
The image is shown on ticket-counter monitors throughout the pre-security passenger check-in areas and will soon be featured on monitors at post-security departure gates.
“This is our simple way of showing gratitude to America’s active-duty military and veterans each and every day,” says Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. Gonzalez. “When the news headlines fade away, it’s all too easy to forget that thousands of our fellow Americans are living in harm’s way at this very moment, and that hundreds of thousands more have done so before them. MIA proudly salutes these brave men and women for their service.”
The campaign was created by the Miami-Dade Aviation Department’s Fine Arts & Cultural Affairs Division.
