MIA Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Miami International Airport (MIA) went pink for one day this week in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October.

MIA director and CEO Lester Sola was joined by Miami-Dade County Commission Vice Chairwoman Rebeca Sosa in kicking off the airport’s awareness campaign, which includes MIA’s Central Boulevard welcome sign, flight information monitors, ticket counter screens and terminal columns all being colored in pink the entire month.

Last year, MIA raised more than $32,500 for the fight against breast cancer, which earned it a National Pacesetter Award from the American Cancer Society.

The airport also provides a way for passengers to support the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer campaign at MIA by donating in any of the collection boxes at participating terminal shops and restaurants.
