The Minority Chamber of Commerce has named Emilio T. Gonzalez, Miami-Dade aviation director, its 2015 Leader of Year.
The award recognizes the recipient’s achievements in public service and contributions to Miami-Dade County.
“The Miami-Dade Aviation Department is deeply committed to supporting our local small businesses, and I greatly appreciate the Minority Chamber of Commerce for recognizing that commitment,” says Gonzalez. “Small and minority-owned businesses are critical to the success of both our county and our airport. Therefore, I am honored to receive this award, which recognizes MIA as a leader in the small business community.”
The Minority Chamber of Commerce is a national business organization and non-profit that works to advance the interests of minority businesses. It serves five Florida counties: Broward, Palm Beach, Orange, Monroe and Miami-Dade.
