MOB’s Curry Resigns; Wilson Named Executive Director

The Mobile Airport Authority announced Thursday that its president, Chris Curry, has resigned. The Authority named G. Anderson “Andy” Wilson as its new executive director.

The reason for Curry’s sudden departure was not revealed. In a statement released by the Authority, Curry said: “After careful consideration and discussions with the Board of Directors, I have made the decision to step down as president of Mobile Airport Authority. I resign with immense pride in the progress that we have made together over the past several years serving the community of Mobile and beyond.” He went on to express his support for the Authority staff and the board of directors in their future efforts.

Curry joined MOB in 2017 as executive director and was promoted to the position of president in 2018.

Wilson, MOB’s new director, is a 40-year aviation industry veteran who joins the airport after serving as director of aviation at Hill International, where he played an instrumental role in overseeing the organization’s implementation of innovative solutions like video analytics for passenger management.

“Andy Wilson is the ideal fit for the Mobile Airport Authority, having a well-regarded career spanning every aspect of airport management. He is no stranger to our organization and served as a consultant in the building of the Authority’s FAA-approved Master Plan. The Board is confident that Andy’s experience and relationships will add great value to the team as we take on this next phase of growth,” said Elliot Maisel, MAA Board Chairman.

“We are excited to welcome him to the team and know that he will ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved in the project to build a new commercial terminal at Mobile International Airport.”
