Wireless Internet service is now free at Ronald Reagan Washington National (DCA) and Washington Dulles International (IAD).
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority had previously charged a fee for the service if travelers didn’t have a subscription with a major wireless carrier. Now, travelers can select the airport’s new free Wi-Fi network and use their wireless-enabled laptops and mobile devices to connect to the Internet.
Users will see a connectivity “splash” page when they select the airport’s network; they will have to agree to the terms of the free service. In the future, the page may include pop-op advertising.
Travelers will also still have the option of selecting a specific provider of paid connectivity.
