Pittsburgh International (PIT) will soon be home to two new Starbucks locations, and it’s getting some other upgrades, as well.
One of the new locations will be in the center core of the Airside Terminal; the other will be in the baggage-claim level of the Landside Terminal. Both will be operated by HMSHost Corp. and are expected to open by Christmas. A Vino Volo wine bar is also in the works.
“We’re very happy to announce these improvements that focus on the customer experience. Just like the additions of Uber and Lyft as transportation options, these are things customers have asked for and we, along with our partners at Airmall, responded,” says Christina Cassotis, CEO of PIT. “These customer amenity improvements mirror our ongoing air service improvements.”
Additionally, the baggage-claim area has been renovated. New carpeting has been installed and several walls have been removed to open up the space. Plus, the airport’s free wireless network has been expanded to cover the entire airport, including baggage claim.
“Passengers will find a variety of new shopping and dining options at the airport,” says Jay Kruisselbrink, senior vice president of Airmall. “We’re pleased to add Starbucks and Vino Volo to our exciting retail mix at Airmall Pittsburgh. We are always focused on enhancing the passenger experience, and these new arrivals are a wonderful complement to our program.”
