The South Bend Chocolate Co. took over food and beverage, gift shop and vending operations at South Bend International (SBN) on June 1.
The company committed to upgrading the airport’s customer experience. Renovations will start in the post-security restaurant and gift shop, with a remodeling and concept change for food and gift operations on the public side to follow.
The new operations will include espresso-based drinks, made-to-order food items, local gifts that include works from local artists, and memorabilia from local universities and museums.
“Bringing in regional, upscale brands will help differentiate the airport and create a sense of place allowing us to create a great retail and dining destination that is on par with our downtown flagship store,” says Mark Tarner, owner of South Bend Chocolate Co.
South Bend Chocolate Co. replaces Air Host, which has provided the services since 1977.
