New Concessions In Works For IAD, DCA

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) said that 15 new concessions will begin the construction process at Reagan National Airport (DCA) and Dulles International Airport (IAD) in 2024.  

DCA will see a new LEGO store, showcasing activity sets, bricks, and licensed gifts including architecture sets depicting numerous monuments and landmarks, Eastern Market, for travel essentials, Solid State Books, Monumental News, Starbucks, Mi Vida, a Mexican eatery that’s an offshoot of a popular D.C. Wharf location and Nalley Fresh, specializing in salads, wraps, and bowls. 

Travelers to IAD will be able to experience Plum Market. with all natural, organic, local, and specialty items, Brighton, with handcrafted accessories, jewelry, and leather goods designed by talented artists and artisans, The Goods @ IAD,  a travel essentials store with modern check-out technology, IAD Express, for last-minute travel essentials, Capital Supply Co., a one-stop travel essential store, Starbucks, and Washington Essentials, to be located pre-security, and Relay, which will offer travel essentials, gourmet snacks, health and beauty, gifts, books and apparel. 

“Having a mix of local and national brands at our airports represents added value for passengers,” said Jaimini Erskine, MWAA vice president for marketing and concessions. “We continue to seek out new brands that showcase the Washington region experience.” 

In October 2023, MWAA awarded a ten-year contract to Fraport USA and its partner Dr. Gina Merritt, a local minority business leader, to lease, develop and manage the concessions programs at both IAD and DCA
