Three new stores – Hudson News, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum Store, and Johnston & Murphy – have landed at the AIRMALL® at Cleveland-Hopkins International (CLE), and AIRMALL® at Boston Logan International (BOS) has welcomed Earl of Sandwich.
One Hudson News unit is in the CLE’s car rental facility, and another, larger location can be found directly across from the Concourse C checkpoint.
“Hudson is delighted to partner with the city of Cleveland, the Department of Aviation and BAA at CLE, which is undergoing a true renaissance in its retail concessions program in terms of the quality of stores, enhanced product selection, customer service and revenue,” says Joe DiDomizio, president and CEO of Hudson Group.
Hudson Group, which operates Hudson News and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum store, is working with two ACDBE companies to manage a total of 11 stores at CLE’s AIRMALL® — the United Concessions Group Inc., and Fins & Feathers Seafood and Poultry Market, Inc., dba English Concessions. Both are Cleveland-based companies.
“After checking in and making their way through security, travelers often shift their priorities to finding something to read or to buying a snack for the trip,” says Tina LaForte, vice president of BAA Cleveland. “Now, Cleveland travelers will have a terrific selection of books, magazines, snacks, and gifts thanks to Hudson News, the leader in news and gift offerings at airports across the nation. BAA Cleveland is proud that Hudson will be an integral part of the new AIRMALL®. Moreover, travelers can shop and buy knowing that they’ll be paying ‘Regular Mall Prices…Guaranteed.'”
With the opening of Johnston & Murphy near the Concourse B security checkpoint, men who are searching for leather shoes and accessories and fine apparel have a new place to go.
“When the Cleveland Airport System undertook the task of re-engineering our concessions program, we envisioned a place where travelers could choose from the highest-quality brands for clothing, gifts and accessories,” says Ricky Smith, director of the Cleveland Airport System. “As the AIRMALL® continues to take shape, the traveling public is watching that vision turn into reality, and we know that offerings such as Johnston & Murphy will greatly contribute to enhancing the passenger experience.”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum Store can be found just beyond the Concourse B security check point. A wall-sized graphic on the outside of the store depicts a timeline of major rock-and-roll events. The store sells clothing, Hall of Fame merchandise, gifts and accessories. Seven plasma screens inside show the sights and sounds of famous rock moments and videos.
“We are especially pleased with the success of our new relationship with the prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museum,” DiDomizio says. “This dazzling new airport store, operated by Hudson, faithfully reflects in design and merchandising one of the most exciting tourist destinations in Cleveland, indeed in the United States.”
In Boston, the new Earl of Sandwich, located in the Terminal E food court, offers artisan-baked breads, fresh meats and cheeses, and a variety of sandwich toppings.
“Our line-up of diverse dining options is specifically designed to offer travelers a variety of convenient, premium choices” says Mike Caro, vice president of BAA Boston. “With a reputation for fine ingredients and unwavering consistency, Earl of Sandwich is the perfect addition to the AIRMALL® at Boston Logan International Airport.”
Sandwiches are made to order, and the menu also includes tossed salads served traditionally or wrapped in flatbread.
