The Nuance Group (Houston) has been given a three-year extension to operate duty-free concessions until 2014 at George Bush Intercontinental (IAH).
The company has the concession for Terminals A to D, in which it operates two in-line stores and three retail kiosk units.
“We are extremely pleased to have been granted this contract extension and we look forward to our continued relationship with the airport administration and the further growth of the business,” says Richard Rendek, chief executive officer for The Nuance Group North America.
Randy Goodman, commercial development manager for the Houston Airport System, says the airport is pleased with the company’s performance thus far.
“They have built very attractive duty-free outlets and have managed to increase duty-free sales per international enplanement by over 50% since they began operations in 2005,” he says. “What is particularly impressive is that they have achieved these gains despite having to deal with significant challenges including, most recently, the liquid and gel security restrictions.”
