Recent changes to Swiss legislation will allow the purchase of duty free goods upon the arrival at the country’s international airports.
As a result, The Nuance Group will open Arrival Duty Free Stores at Geneva (GVA) and Zurich (ZRH) when the new law becomes effective.
“This is a very exciting development for us, as we believe arrival duty free is a great opportunity to extend our services to customers flying into Switzerland,” says Andrea Belardini, CEO Europe, The Nuance Group. “Through the introduction of new stores at Zurich and Geneva, we will be able to offer arriving passengers the full range of core category products as well as other convenience goods.
“Together with our airport partners, we aim to provide exciting new retail opportunities, not only for Swiss residents, who can enjoy a very convenient shopping experience, but also business and leisure travelers coming to and from Switzerland. Now with the addition of the arrival shops, we’ll have the opportunity to capture all arriving flows,” Belardini continues.
The work on both locations is nearly finished. The new stores will allow the company to launch a “collect on return” service, which will allow travelers to buy products upon departure and pick them up when they return to Switzerland.
Stores will open at GVA and ZRH on June 1, with a second Zurich store expected this summer.
