Oakland International Airport (OAK) is now selling at-home COVID-19 test kits in vending machines located at both its terminals.
The At-Home Saliva RT-PCT test from digital health company Wellness 4 Humanity provides customers a contactless way to buy the kit, provide a saliva sample, return that sample via FedEx and get results on a mobile phone app. Test kits available in the kiosk range from $130 to $150.
“As one of the first airports to offer on-site rapid COVID testing, we are now providing even more testing options for travelers,” said Bryant Francis, aviation director for the Port of Oakland, operators of OAK. “We still urge travelers to make sure they are current on any quarantines and regulations at their destinations.”
Airport officials said this additional COVID test option is separate from, and not part of, the State of Hawaii Department of Health’s pre-travel testing program.
