San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport (OAK) has opened its latest quick serve terminal restaurant: A16, an Italian-focused cafe located in Terminal 1 offering travelers everything from breakfast sandwiches and coffee to paninis and pizzas. The eatery is currently in its soft opening period until July 13 and is operated by concessionaire High Flying Foods.
A16’s menu is sourced from Northern California purveyors and is based on fare offered at the restaurant’s two streetside locations in Oakland and San Francisco. Open for over two decades, the brand is a longtime Bay Area favorite that has been recognized with a variety of culinary distinctions, including a 2022 Michelin Bib Gourmand designation and multiple James Beard Awards for the restaurant’s wine program.
“We are thrilled to unveil this twelfth addition to OAK’s new Food and Beverage Program with the opening of A16 in Terminal 1,” said Craig Simon, director of aviation at the Port of Oakland. “Bringing the fantastic local flavors of the San Francisco Bay Area to our airport has been a priority for us throughout this process, and A16 is a perfect new addition to this lineup.”
