OAK To Offer Free Parking

Oakland International (OAK) will be picking up the parking tab for passengers traveling midweek to select Southern California cities in early 2011.

Passengers departing OAK to Los Angeles (LAX), San Diego (SAN), Orange County (SNA) or Long Beach (LGB) airports on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between Jan. 4 and Feb. 10 can park free in the Daily Lot for up to 72 hours. The coupon, valued at up to $66 for parking in OAK’s Daily Lot, which is located across from the terminals, is available at oaklandairport.com.

“Oakland International Airport’s airline partners, Southwest and JetBlue, together offer 114 daily nonstop flights to Southern California on full-size Boeing 737 and Airbus A-320 jet aircraft, respectively,” says Deborah Ale Flint, director of aviation for the Port of Oakland, which owns and operates OAK. “Now, there is another reason to fly from Oakland to LAX, San Diego, Orange County or Long Beach in early 2011 as on-airport parking is free for those traveling midweek for business or pleasure.”
