Oakland International Offering Free Parking For Passengers On Flights To New Markets

As an incentive to try new flights offered at Oakland International (OAK), the airport is offering up to three days of free on-airport parking for travelers heading to any one of 10 cities.

OAK has announced non-stop service to eight new destinations since the beginning of 2015. And when Southwest Airlines begins service between OAK and Port Columbus International (CMH) in August, it will be that airline’s fifth new destination this year. Spirit Airlines, Volaris Airlines, Allegiant Air and JetBlue Airways also have been adding direct flights from the airport.

“Oakland International Airport is now one of the fastest-growing airports in the country,” says Deborah Ale-Flint, director of aviation for the Port of Oakland. “The popular Park Free promotion is our unique way of introducing the new flights along with the convenience of on-airport parking to our Bay Area customers.”

The airport’s Park Free Summer promotion runs through Labor Day, Sept. 7. Travelers on non-stop flights from OAK to one of 10 destinations can get the free parking, worth up to $66, in the airport’s Daily Lot.

To be eligible, travelers must complete a registration at oaklandairport.com/parkfree. That will initiate the issue of a unique Park Free coupon that must be presented with a printed copy of a qualifying OAK round-trip e-ticket itinerary, a boarding pass or other proof of purchase, and an ID to a cashier upon exiting the airport lot.
