Reach Airports, the U.S.-based joint venture between Munich Airport International’s US holdings (MAI) and CAG Holdings, announced that Andrew O’Brian will take over as chief executive officer beginning August 1.
O’Brian joins Reach Airports after decades of leadership work in the industry, most recently as president and chief executive officer of Quiport, a special purpose venture launched to invest, build and operate Ecuador’s Quito International Airport (UIO).
O’Brian also served as CEO of Aerodom in the Dominican Republish, a package of six airports undergoing substantial capital improvement programs.
“Andrew is a well-respected senior executive in the aviation industry. He has a track record of developing best-in-class airport organizations that provide premium service to clients and customers,” said Dr. Ralf Gaffal, MAI managing director. “Together we will bring Munich Airport’s operational expertise and outstanding consulting and training approach to shape the US’ aviation infrastructure for the future demands in mobility.”
O’Brian is expected to guide Reach Airports in providing management, consulting and training services to airports in the North American market, providing overall company management, business development, and cooperation with airport-related partner firms.
“I look forward to building on CAG’s and Munich Airport International’s previous global success, to now lead unique and exciting airport operations, consulting and training opportunities; all tailored to the North American market and following our visions to operate throughout the Americas region,” O’Brian said in a press release announcing his new position.
