Obrycki’s Celebrates 5 Years At BWI With Donation To Charity

A Baltimore restaurant favorite is celebrating its fifth anniversary at the AIRMALL® at Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International (BWI) and Our Daily Bread is receiving the gift.

Obrycki’s Restaurant and Bar, a widely known local seafood proprietor in Baltimore, Md., opened its 80-seat, 2,500 sq. ft. location at BWI’s Concourse B, in July 2006. This year, Frommer’s named it one of the top 10 best airport restaurants in the country. Its menu includes crab cakes, crab soup, soft-shell crabs, crab salad wraps, shrimp salads and broiled shrimp and crabmeat.

“Obrycki’s has brought something special to the AIRMALL at BWI since it opened,” says Brett Kelly, vice president of AIRMALL Maryland. “The iconic local restaurant gives travelers a chance to dine on fresh, authentic, Maryland-style seafood. Now they are demonstrating why they are also an asset to the local community. We commend them on their generous donation to Our Daily Bread, and hope that all BWI travelers will dine at Obrycki’s on July 1 to help their donation efforts.”

On that day, Obrycki’s will donate 25% of the day’s net sales, with a minimum donation of $2,500, to Our Daily Bread, part of the Catholic Charities of Baltimore. It serves more than 250,000 meals to Baltimore City’s hungry every year, and its employment center improves the lives of people in need by offering resources to help them achieve self-sufficiency through employment and housing.

“We feel very fortunate with our success as a family-owned and operated-business, and we are happy to be able to give to a very worthy charity like Our Daily Bread within our community,” says Rob Cernak, co-owner of Obrycki’s. “The donation felt like the perfect way to celebrate our fifth year of introducing BWI travelers to the tastes of Baltimore.”
