ONT Launches Simplified CBP Technology

Ontario International Airport (ONT) has launched the Simplified Arrival process for international travelers to the U.S., operated by the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), which used facial biometrics to automate the document checking process.

CBP Facial recognition software will take a quick photo of the passenger then compare it with digital passports and other images, meaning travelers will now no longer have to provide fingerprints, which reduces the processing time to seconds.

“Ontario International Airport is proud to partner with CBP in providing arriving international passengers a more convenient travel experience while also enhancing the safety and security of the inspection process,” said Atif Elkadi, CEO of the Ontario International Airport Authority. “As we expand our international travel options, Simplified Arrival will play a significant role in providing a more expedited and safe inspection process.”
