Deborah Ostreicher has been named assistant director of aviation in Phoenix. As part of the aviation department, she will help oversee Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX), Deer Valley (DVT) and Goodyear (GYR). Ostreicher also will be a member of the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority.
Ostreicher started with the city in 1996 when she was the air service development manager. She was later promoted to deputy aviation director in 2005. She has been overseeing Phoenix’s communications office since November.
Her new role will have her focusing on noise information, air service development, legislative issues, planning, and environmental and public relations.
“I am grateful to Deborah for her leadership in the city’s communications office over the past seven months,” says Phoenix City Manager Ed Zuercher. “Deborah’s background in aviation, business, community outreach, marketing and public relations will make her a tremendous asset to the aviation department’s executive team.”
