OTG, BMG Joint Venture Selected To Manage DCA Terminal A Development

A joint venture between OTG Management and BMG will be bringing chef-driven, full-service dining featuring OTG’s iPads in addition to an expanded food and retail offerings, says Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority CEO Jack Potter. The two companies will be working alongside MarketPlace Development, the airport authority’s contractor for concession management.

“We’ll be working with amazing local chefs and dynamic talents such as Carla Hall from ‘Top Chef’ and ABC’s ‘The Chew,’” says Rick Blatstein, president and founder of OTG. “And we’ll be building exciting concepts that showcase our iPad experience and vibrant design in this iconic terminal.”

The terminal, which is more than 40 years old, also will undergo multiple structural improvements such as a lobby renovation and an expansion of security checkpoints. A release by the airport authority states that the first phase of shops and restaurants is scheduled to open this spring.

“We believe the new shops and restaurants will transform the terminal into a more popular destination for passengers flying at Reagan,” said Steve Baker, vice president of business administration for the MWAA, in a statement.

Blatstein also commented that the company will work with the local community by working alongside the Cohn’s Culinary & Hospitality Management Academy. According to its website, the Washington, D.C.-based non-profit organization provides hands-on job training in the restaurant and hospitality industries to under-served young adults.
