PAE Awards Sole Concessions Contract to Beechers

Propeller Airports, which manages and operates Paine Field Airport (PAE) in northern Washington state, is awarding the sole food concessionaire contract to Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, a popular artisanal cheesemaker with notoriety both in Seattle and New York City.

The cheesemaker will operate food concessions in the gate side and baggage claim area. The parent company for Beecher’s, Sugar Mountain, will also be operating a wine bar and a Caffe Vita coffee kiosk.

“The vision behind Paine Field has always been to bring civility back to air travel while the experience is enjoyable and pain-free for passengers,” said Brett Smith, CEO of Propeller Airports. “The Sugar Mountain brands joining us in the terminal will ensure not only high-quality concessions but the kind of personalized care and service they have a well-earned reputation for at their locations throughout the U.S.”

A Beecher’s Handmade Cheese Café will open next year for travelers to pick up fresh sandwiches, hot soups and the restaurant’s famous macaroni and cheese. The Sugar Mountain-operated wine bar, Upper Case, will feature local Pacific Northwest wines and cocktails, and give travelers the option to order food from the Cheese Café.
