PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT RFP FOR OUTREACH AND PUBLIC INFORMATION COORDINATOR

 

Salary:                        $27.77 Per Hour

Department:              Airports/Airports Marketing

Location:                    Palm Beach International (PBI) Airport, WPB

Hours:                        8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday – Friday; may be required to work before, during and after emergencies.

Other:                         Requires successful completion of DHS Criminal History Records Check and Security Threat Assessment prior to appointment and the ability to maintain these clearances as a condition of employment.

Professional work coordinating public relations activities, public information releases, and developing and implementing the department’s public relations program. Serves as the primary Public Information Officer, responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing the public relations and public affairs functions, including employee communications, community outreach, media relations and public information in support of the strategic objectives for PBI Airport and its three General Aviation Airports. Serves as primary contact with media and Airport Operations relating to non-emergency and emergency incidents with a strong understanding of airport emergency plans and procedures.  Assists Marketing Director in all aspects of marketing, advertising, communication, public outreach and any other departmental duties assigned. Work is performed under the direction of an administrative superior and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and results achieved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Public Administration or related; minimum of three (3) years of experience in coordinating public information/relations, advertising, journalism, directly responding to or working with the media, or related workEquivalencies:  Related Associate’s Degree OR unrelated Bachelor’s Degree AND five (5) years of related experience.

PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE IN:  Crisis communication strategy, development and deployment (must specify on application).
