Paradies and UCG To Bring First Bar Symon Airport Location To PIT

The first airport location of Bar Symon will be coming to Pittsburgh International’s Airmall®. Bar Symon is the creation of James Beard Foundation Award winner and Food Network Iron Chef, Michael Symon.

“Chef Symon’s choice to open his first airport restaurant in Pittsburgh raises the bar once again. His unique take on classic dishes will bring new energy to the concessions program at PIT, and we are certain that Bar Symon will quickly become a passenger favorite,” says Jay Kruisselbrink, vice president of development for AIRMALL USA.

The 2,500 sq. ft. Bar Symon which will be located in the airport’s center core, is a joint venture operated by The Paradies Shops and United Concessions Group. In addition to an array of appetizers, salads, and sandwiches, the menu will feature creative twists on classic comfort foods with signature dishes such as the Lola Burger topped with a fried egg and pickled onions; Lola Fries with sea salt and rosemary; and two varieties of baked macaroni and cheese.

“We are very proud to be part of this exceptionally talented team that all share a passion for excellence in delivering great cuisine and uncompromising service”, says Gregg Paradies, president and CEO of The Paradies Shops.  “We look forward to a long relationship, growing Bar Symon restaurants in airports across the country.”

“We are very excited to partner with United Concessions Group, the AIRMALL at PIT, and the Paradies Group on our first airport venture,” said Michael Symon. “Bar Symon is sure to bring a unique dining experience to airport travelers.”

The restaurant is slated to open this spring.
