Paradies Lagardère has opened The Goods Express@CLT, a checkout-free retail experience powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology, at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Opened in the airport’s Atrium, this innovative retail location was created to offer the ultimate speed and convenience desired and appreciated by the on-the-go traveler.
Amazon’s Just Walk Out shopping experience is designed to be an effortless experience. Shoppers enter the store by inserting a credit card at the entry gate. The technology then detects what shoppers take from or return to the shelves in the store. When they have completed their shopping experience, they will be able to just leave the store and their credit card will be charged only for the items they took and that are in their virtual cart.
“We are thrilled to deliver this impressive store powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology to our partners at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport and their travelers,” said Gregg Paradies, president and CEO of Paradies Lagardère. “As travel continues to strengthen in 2023, this technology provides an easy and satisfying experience for shoppers and helps expand on our ever-growing level of consumer innovation in the airport retail environment.”
“We’re proud to provide a fast and convenient checkout-free experience for travelers using our Just Walk Out technology,” said Dilip Kumar, vice president of AWS Applications. “Travelers at Charlotte’s Douglas International Airport can now experience the magic of taking what they need and leaving the store quickly. No waiting in line, no anxiety about getting to your gate on time.”
The Goods Express@CLT is Paradies Lagardère’s first retail location to offer Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology.
