Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is launching a weeklong celebration surrounding National Cheesesteak Day, March 24, with special events and freebies that highlight the iconic local sandwich.
Travelers can enjoy cheesesteaks and cheesesteak-inspired items from 13 renowned local eateries throughout the airport, as well as view a private tasting with former Philadelphia Eagle and Pro Football Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins.
The week features interactive tour maps that let travelers scan a QR code, displayed on various Cheesesteak Week promo items throughout PHL, to see each participating location, the cheesesteak menu items offered and their perfect Pepsi pairings.
“One thing Philadelphia knows is cheesesteaks, and we’re excited to share our city’s specialty with travelers,” said Mel Hannah, vice president and general manager of MarketPlace PHL, which manages the concessions program at the airport. “This weeklong event will allow guests to have an authentic Philly experience.”
