Philadelphia International (PHL) opened its fifth annual Just Plane Fun customer appreciation program this week with a flurry of activities, including a woodworking demonstration, an African dance performance, a wine tasting hosted by Vino Volo, massage chairs from XpresSpa, several giveaways and an appearance by Philly, the mascot of the Philadelphia Pretzel Factory.
The festivities will be continued throughout the summer at PHL, which has a daily schedule for live entertainment and appearances by mascots and costumed characters.
There will be a “Selfie” promotion on Twitter, where passengers guess the answer to a clue, send a direct message to @phlairport and snap a “selfie” with the object in an effort to win a weekly prize.
Those who would rather just relax can wait for their flight in the Airport Chillin’ Zone, a living room-style seating area.
“Just Plane Fun continues to flourish in its fifth year and continues to be received with enthusiasm,” says airport CEO Mark Gale. “We recognize travelers have choices, and this is our way of thanking our customers for choosing PHL. We encourage ticketed passengers to see staff members at the airport information counters for raffle entries. The prizes get better each year.”
