PHL Shows Exhibit In Conjunction With Artist Group

The city of Philadelphia is hosting the annual conference of The Society of North American Goldsmith, a non-profit group with more than 3,000 international members consisting of artists, educators and students.

The newest exhibit at Philadelphia International (PHL), in conjunction with the 2009 SNAG conference, features work by 17 Philadelphia-area artists. It shows off a wide variety of approaches to metal arts from objects to jewelry in traditional and non-traditional materials and techniques.

“Many of the artists whose work is in the exhibition are well known throughout the United States for their aesthetic contributions to the field of contemporary metal arts,” says Leah Douglas, exhibitions director. “The craftsmanship and diversity of the work represented is a true reflection of Philadelphia’s talented artisans.”

The exhibit runs through November and can be found post-security in Terminal D.
