The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce has recognized Deborah Ostreicher, deputy aviation director for public relations at Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), with its 2012 ATHENA Public Sector Award.
She was one of four finalists for the honor, which lauded her for her professional accomplishments, commitment to the community and mentorship of women.
Ostreicher has been with the Phoenix Aviation Department, which owns and operates PHX, Phoenix Deer Valley (DVT) and Phoenix Goodyear, for 16 years. She manages PHX’s media, public relations, customer service and air service initiatives. In the community, she mentors children and serves on the board for New Pathways for Youth, an organization that provides support for the area’s homeless children.
“While I greatly respect her work as a professional at Phoenix Sky Harbor, what really inspires me is the work that she does outside of her busy days at the airport,” says Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton.
