PHX To Celebrate Customer Appreciation Day

As part of its second annual Customer Appreciation Day, Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) will offer passengers free candy, popcorn and other treats on Oct. 5.

“This is our opportunity to give back to our customers, to say thank you, and to let them know how much we appreciate them,” says Airport Director Danny Murphy.

Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon will be in Terminal 4, Level 3, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. to thank customers for using the airport. Employees and Navigator volunteers will be handing out “THX from PHX” stickers, and the airport’s mascot, Amelia the Airplane, will be in the terminals to greet passengers and pose for photos.

Many of the airport’s concessions will be joining the event, as well. The Arizona Highways store, for example, will be giving away magnets, hat pins and beanie babies with each purchase, and Einstein Bros. will offer free samples of its Bagel Poppers.

“This is an airport-wide celebration,” says Alisa Smith, Sky Harbor’s customer service manager. “Last year, 51 stores, restaurants and other businesses participated and we expect that many or more to participate this year.”
