Marty Piette has been nominated to become the new airport director of Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB). Piette is set to replace Tom Miller, who is retiring. Miller has been the director of GRB since 2001.
“Following a nationwide search, we had a number of fine candidates interview for the position. Marty Piette stood out from the group because of his knowledge, skill set and dedication to Brown County and Greater Green Bay,” says Streckenbach. “I’m counting on Marty to bring the airport to the next level.”
Piette currently is GRB’s assistant airport director. His past work experience includes more than 20 years of airport management experience, including 12 years as as airport manager for Muskegon County Airport (MKG).
Piette’s appointment must be confirmed by the Muskegon County Board, which is scheduled to discuss the appointment at the June 20 meeting.
“I am excited and honored to have been chosen to step into the role of airport director. Brown County is a great place to live and work, and the airport is a valuable asset that reflects the region’s prosperity,” says Piette. “My top priorities will be to work with the various stakeholders to meet the air service needs of the community, build upon our efforts to be engaged with business and community leaders, and continue to operate the facility as efficiently as possible. Working together, we will cement GRB’s position as the airport of choice for Northeast Wisconsin and beyond.”
