Pittsburgh International (PIT) is inviting travelers to explore all that the city and region has to offer with Discover Pittsburgh week in the airport’s Airmall.
From Sept. 12-16, the airport will celebrate with live music, entertainment, food, giveaways and appearances by area attractions. Additionally, the Voices of Pittsburgh program has been implemented on the trains connecting the Airside and Landside terminals. The train voices will change regularly to showcase various current events and people, such as University of Pittsburgh Chancellor Patrick Gallagher and U.S. Olympic Women’s Volleyball Captain Christa Harmotto Dietzen.
“Creating a sense of place at the airport and bringing more of the region’s rich arts and cultural scene here is important,” says Christina Cassotis, CEO of the Allegheny County Airport Authority. “Pittsburghers have a lot to be proud of, and we want that to be reflected at the airport. We’re looking at how we can continue to improve that experience, and these programs are just the start.”
