Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) will welcome another local favorite into its concessions program. Mineo’s Pizza House — a family-run pizza parlor founded by Sicilian immigrant John Mineo in 1958 and recently honored by the New York Times as a reader favorite — will open its fourth location and first airport location in the facility’s landside food court in spring 2025. The eatery will offer travelers the pizzeria’s signature pies, hoagies, salads and snacks and will feature the food court’s first bar seating area. Mineo’s joins the previously announced Café Conmigo and Champion City Sports as one of several Western Pennsylvania-based brands that will open at PIT in 2025.
“Pittsburgh International Airport’s new terminal is for Pittsburgh by Pittsburghers,” said John Brennan, PIT’s director of commercial program development. “Sense of place is important, and nothing reinforces that idea more than the airport adding one of Pittsburgh’s most beloved and iconic brands to our concession offerings.”
Mineo’s “space is designed to be unique,” Brennan added. “It will be as much a draw as their food and will be a popular place to wait for a departing flight.”
“We are very excited to open our newest restaurant in Pittsburgh International Airport,” added Gio Mineo. “It’s an exciting time for the region with the new terminal opening next year, and we are proud to be a part of it. We are looking forward to introducing our award-winning pizza to the millions of first-time visitors to Pittsburgh. We are also excited that travelers visiting former Pittsburgh residents can now bring them a little slice of home.”
