Plaza Premium Lounge Offers Break From Airport Bustle At YEG

Travelers at Edmonton International (YEG) have a new place to relax, now that Plaza Premium Lounge has opened.

The two-story lounge, in the U.S. Departures Terminal, opened Feb. 11. It has a two-story-high window façade, giving guests a panoramic view of the airfield while they wait for their flights. The top floor has a rainforest-style marble and gives travelers a place for a quick bite before their flights; the bottom floor has a wool carpet and a wider selection of food and drinks.

Croissants and other breakfast items are available in the mornings, and during the day the menu changes to pizza, salad, tapas, cookies and fruit. Coffee and tea will be available at the Lift-Me-Up Corner.

To mark the opening, Plaza Premium Lounge will offer a two-for-one special through February. Each paying guest will be able to bring a guest in for free or receive a coupon valid until May 31 for a future visit to any of the company’s lounges in Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto.

The lounge at YEG can seat 75 people, and is open from 4:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily. Single-use admission, which is US$35 and a maximum of three hours, includes food, drinks, bar service, Internet access, work and charging stations, newspapers, magazines and television.

Guests may also visit www.plaza-network.com to purchase executive or premium annual passes, which cost US$210 and US $339, respectively. Complimentary access is offered to invited guests from airlines and partners, including Priority Pass and selected charge card members.
