The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) this week announced a new customer service at Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD), a “Flying Familiarization Program” that provides new travelers and those unfamiliar with airports an opportunity to visit PVD before traveling and learn what to expect from curb to gate to boarding the aircraft.
Free “classes” administered by RIAC’s customer service team will be held on the third Tuesday of each month with options for afternoon or evening classes. Topics will include parking; airline check-in processes, services and other amenities; an overview of Transportation Security Administration procedures; a tour of the airport departures and arrivals lobbies; and an overview of what to expect upon return to PVD.
“Studies have shown that 40 percent of the general population reports some fear or anxiety associated with flying,” said Tim Pimental, vice president, customer service for the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. “Recognizing the stress that first-time or novice flyers can encounter, the PVD customer care team recognizes that everyone deserves to have a comfortable and positive air travel experience.”
