RDU Board Approves New Concessions Contracts

The Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority Board on Thursday approved four retail packages that will refresh the retail experience for customers in Terminal 2 of Raleigh-Durham International (RDU). The four packages combine for a total of 15 new stores.

The refresh program will be implemented in phases beginning in fall 2017, with all new stores scheduled to be open by summer 2018.

“We’re enhancing the retail shopping experience for our customers and giving them more reasons to start their trip early at the airport,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the airport authority. “We listened closely to our customers to design a retail program that is customized to their preferences. The new offerings are tailored especially to our local tastes and are a direct result of our focus group discoveries.”

Hudson Group will operate seven locations, bringing in stores including 5th & Sunset, City Market News, Hudson, Hudson/Ink by Hudson, Raleigh-Durham Duty Free, Tech on the Go and Vineyard Vines.

Paradies Lagardère has been awarded contracts for six retail locations, including Corsa Collections, InMotion, No Boundaries, Swarovski, TripAdvisor and WRAL Travel Store.

In addition, Marshall Retail Group won a contract to operate a Root & Branch gift shop, and XpresSpa will move to a new, larger location under a new contract.
