THE POSITION: The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is seeking an individual with professional experience in a complex, diverse, retail/commercial property management program to join our dynamic Airport Economic Development (AED) team as the Property Specialist II – Concessions. There is one (1) position open. At the RTAA, the Property Specialist II – Concessions is a key member of the AED team. The Property Specialist II – Concessions reports to, and provides highly-responsible, professional-level staff assistance to, the Senior Manager of Properties. The Property Specialist II – Concessions is responsible for designing, recommending, implementing, and optimizing the concessions program at Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) through the execution of strategic objectives and tactical plans designed to keep the concession offerings at RNO fresh, and to enhance revenue per enplaned passenger through strategies to attract and retain business to RNO. The concessions program at RNO includes food and beverage, retail, rental cars, ground transportation service providers, advertising, gaming, and other airport services.
The nature of the position requires the ability to organize and direct complex projects and programs; sound judgment and discretion in determining optimal strategies for meeting departmental goals and objectives; the ability to develop tactical plans and achieve strategic goals; the ability to identify and implement innovative and efficient solutions; excellent business communication skills; and the ability to establish, maintain and foster effective working relationships.
BACKGROUND: While Reno has long been known as the gateway to the Lake Tahoe region, it is moving well beyond a tourism destination. Tech giants such as Tesla, Switch, Panasonic, Apple, Google and Amazon have propelled the northern Nevada region in new and exciting directions. The region is experiencing an evolution that includes not only significant job growth, but also a revitalization of Reno’s midtown district.
